Welcome To Marist University Akpakwume, Enugu>>>> The Best Place To Study........"Morals, Academics, Socials and otherwise"

About Marist University Akpakwume, Enugu.

The proposed Marist University was born out of the need to create a university that will educate future generations of young people by providing its students holistic education to equip them to be agents of moral, spiritual , political, technological and socio-economic transformation of society, based on sound and infallible principles. This was guided by a deep conviction to enhance professional development by seeking new knowledge and skills. The Marist Brothers of Nigeria, proprietors of the proposed Marist University, have already made very significant strides in the provision of qualitative education in Nigeria and beyond through their schools. Currently, the Marist Brothers have established the following schools in various parts of Nigeria:

In December, 2010, the Marist Brothers wrote a letter of intent to establish a private university in Nigeria to the national university commission, and was invited for an interview on 3rd February, 2011. After the interview, the NUC approved that the Marist Brothers of Nigeria collected the Application forms for the establishment of private universities in Nigeria. The Marist Brothers collected the application form on 1st April, 2011. This marked the commencement of the official processes towards obtaining license for the establishment of the proposed Marist university.
The Marist Brothers of Nigeria, therefore, appointed a planning and implementation committee (P.I.C) in June, 2011 to steer the processes of obtaining license for the proposed university. Members of the P.I.C. are:
